FREEDOM OF INFORMATION REQUESTS
Please fill out the FOIA form which can be obtained from the download page. Requests will be either compiled or denied within 5 working days after its receipt. There is a charge associated with any additional pages over 50; fee will be .15 cents per page. Original signed request required prior to information being compiled. Freedom of information officer for Village hall records is Clerk, Therese Russell and for Police Department records, Chief Ray Meglan. This went into effect 1/2/10

Did you know that the Village of Seneca has a burn Ordinance?
It is unlawful to burn leaves, twigs or grasses unless raked into piles of a reasonable size and on the following days:
Between the dates of April 15 to November 15 on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays between the hours of 8:00AM and 7PM.
Between the dates of November 15 to April 15 on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays between the hours of 9AM and 4PM
No leaves, twigs, grass or other material shall be burned on any street or alley within Village limits. NO fire shall be burned without a person in attendance to control the fire.

The Village has a flag drop box located in the Southeast corner of Village Hall. Please drop your worn American flags into the box to have them disposed of properly.

Building Projects
|
|
Attention residents: Any building project including fences, swimming pools and decks require a village permit prior to construction.
In addition, if residents hire a contractor, the Village requires each contractor to register in advance of any work being started. Please contact Therese Russell at the Seneca Village Hall for details. (815) 357-8771

Water Billing Procedure
|
|
Water bills are mailed monthly around the 28th and payment is due by around the 15th of the month. The Village mails approximately 900 monthly water bills. If you have any questions regarding your water bill, please do not hesitate to call our office during normal business hours.
Any new resident that is renting property within the Village of Seneca is required to first register with the Seneca Village Hall by completing a Renter's Application for Water & Sewer found on our downloads page of this website. A deposit of $100.00 is required prior to water and sewer service being provided.
Any resident that is 65 years old + can register with the Seneca Village Hall for a Senior Discount of $7.50 per month to be applied to their account after they have registered. This discount will not be retroactive and will begin the billing cycle after the discount is applied. For questions, call 815-357-8771

Water Bill Payments
|
Water bill payments can be paid with either check, money order or cash at the Seneca Village Hall on Monday through Friday from 8A.M. to 4P.M. or, for your convenience there is a water payment drop box located in the front of the Village Hall building.
